In celebration of National Poetry Week, we have used our English lessons to explore poetry and learn our own class poem with the theme of ‘Counting’ .
Yesterday, every class took to the stage to perform their poem in front of their phase and a panel of judges. The confidence we saw from our newest children in year 3 right through to our more experienced performers in year 6 was incredible. Well done to all our winners who took a trophy back to class but everyone should feel so proud of their achievements!

In year 3, one of our first activities was to read the book “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds. We learned the importance of just being brave, having a go and seeing where your efforts take you. The children showed their individuality by creating their own dot for our corridor display. All of our year 3 children are finding their feet and growing in confidence - we could not be more proud. Just look at some of their writing already!
